Cocktails to Ring In the New Year

While our New Year’s Eve plans aren’t going to be extravagant this year, that doesn’t mean our cocktails can’t be.
Here are a few great cocktails to make to help you say goodbye to 2020 and ring in a new year.
Icewine Royale
This cocktail is as Canadian as it gets, made with our iconic Icewine. This Megalomaniac Sparkling Personality is made from Riesling grapes and is full of bright citrus. It pairs great with their Riesling Icewine with notes of lime, floral and dried apricot.
What you need:
2 oz Megalomaniac Sparkling Personality
1 oz Megalomaniac Coldhearted Icewine
What you do:
Fill your flute with your bubbly and add the Icewine.
Lavender & Juniper Gin Cocktail
Sipped neat or with ice the Lavender & Juniper gin from Collective Arts is a beautiful blue colour but add a splash of tonic or lemon and it changes to pink
What you need:
1 oz Collective Arts Lavender & Juniper Gin
Splash of Fever Tree Tonic
What you do:
Add a shot of Lavender & Juniper Gin to your glass (over ice if you prefer), add desired amount of tonic and watch the colour change from blue to pink.
Cranberry Mimosa
This is perfect for New Year’s Day brunch. It is tart and bubbly with a vibrant red colour. The Lazzara Bianco from The Speck Brothers at Henry of Pelham winery is fresh and fruity, making it the perfect bubbly for this cocktail.
What you need:
1 oz unsweetened cranberry juice
1 oz orange juice
3 oz Lazzara Bianco Secco
Cranberries & orange for garnish
What you do:
Combine all the ingredients in a champagne flute and garnish with orange and whole cranberries (I love using frozen ones to keep your bubbly cocktail chilled).
Mock-Champagne
Toast the New Year with a fancy glass of mock champagne. It’s alcohol-free but tastes delicious.
What you need:
Chilled Ginger Ale
White grape juice
Raspberries for garnish
What you do:
Combine equal amounts of Ginger Ale and white grape juice in a fancy glass of your choice and add a few raspberries.
Happy New Year! Cheers!
