Alcohol-Removed Sparkling Rosé Brand, Sovi, Comes to Canada
Looking for a refreshing and non-alcoholic wine that still tastes amazing? Start sipping on Sovi!
The founders of Sovi, Julia and Alex Littauer, are no strangers to great tasting wine. With a combined 20 years of experience in the wine industry, this duo consists of a “wine lover and a risk-taking Sommelier” who both quit their day jobs in the wine industry to pursue their goal of producing high quality, non-alcoholic wine. The intention of launching Sovi was not to give up on wine completely but to drink less alcohol while still being able to enjoy every sip. In other words, their objective is to “help the world love wine as much as we do, (with or) without the alcohol.”
Sovi is partnered with a multi-generational, family-owned winery located in Clarksburg, California. The Sovi team works closely with the Vineyard Manager and Winemaker in order to create excellent non-alcoholic wines through a four-step process. The first step is to produce the wine, which is then distilled at a low temperature in a vacuum to boil off the alcohol while still preserving the wine’s flavours and aromas. The next step is blending in some grape juice concentrate to create balance. Lastly, bubbles are added to the Rosé to make it sparkling!
Their dry Sparkling Rosé has notes of pink grapefruit, Rainier cherries and salted watermelon. This Rosé blend is made with 100% sustainably grown Tempranillo grapes. With less than 0.5% ABV, a can of Sovi is only 25 calories.
