Meet the Wild Side of Stratus Vineyards, Wildass Wines
You may know Stratus Vineyards, but have you met their wild side? Introducing Wildass Wines, Stratus’s more approachable and everyday wine label that comes in both bottles and cans.
Much like Stratus Wines, Wildass Wines are sustainable, vegan, made with hand-picked grapes and bottled on-site by Stratus Winemaker, J-Groux, and his team.
When it comes to wine, Wildass offers a range of varietals, styles, and formats that change each year. In bottle formats, Wildass has Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Merlot, and their flagship Red blend. The canned versions include Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, and Red (Cabernet Franc).
Wildass was created in 2000 at the same time that Stratus was launched, meaning they just recently celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2020. After a casual conversation between the owner and a close business colleague, they came up with the concept of creating a wine that presented a different tone from the Stratus label. In other words, the idea behind Wildass was to create more affordable wines that could be enjoyed any time of the day and at any occasion, whether it’s at the dinner table or poolside.
You can find most of the Wildass products at the LCBO, and as of August 21st, their Riesling will also be featured on the LCBO shelves!
