California dreams are alive. What New World wine region is as geographically blessed as Napa or as sweet as Sonoma!? Great elevation, climate, and soil diversity are just some of the reasons that we say #NapaValleyRocks and last month, we were lucky enough to be able to invite the Napa Valley Vintners into our cool ass Wine Cave in downtown Toronto for 3 evenings as we revelled in the big, bold, and beautiful wines of Cal-i-for-ni-a! Napa, quintessentially known for producing those premium big bold Cabs and plushy rich Chards, did not disappoint! With two, 100% sold out Wine School classes and one influencer event, members, and media were abuzz to be in the know about all things Napa! Wine School guests on the two consecutive evenings were invited to taste through 6 wines in a structured tasting and influencers tasted an additional 8 wines including offerings from Napa powerhouses – Cakebread, Silverado, Signorello and Black Stallion to name a few.

Napa wine ROCKS– that’s a given, but the presentation encompassed learning about the ‘rocks’ that literally help to make this wine region so unique. Guests were led through a formal presentation on the specific geology and geography that make Napa a world class wine region, as the Napa Valley AVA contains half the world’s soil orders and over 100 soil variations, with distinct bedrock volcanic soils: mountain (thin, rocky, nutrient-poor), alluvial (deep rocky), and fluvial (fine grained & fertile).

In short, it is this badass soil diversity, paired with ballin’ elevation and an ideal Cali climate that make this region simply AH-MAZING!  The Napa Valley Vintners were proud to present these specialized #iYellowSchool evenings in partnership with Praxis PR.
