Where to Celebrate Canadian Beer Day This Year
Since Canada is home to over 1,200 breweries and 85% of the beer consumed in Canada is made in Canada, October 6th is an important day for Canadian beer lovers! If you live in Ontario, British Columbia or Alberta, here is your guide to what events are going on this Canadian Beer Day.
Ontario
- Good Time Tour Company offers brewery tours around Kingston as well as Prince Edward County. Both tours still have a few openings for tomorrow, so if you’re interested, be sure to sign up right away! The Kingston tour is a 4-hour experience that visits Spearhead Brewing Company, Skeleton Park Brewery and Daft Brewing. There is also the Prince Edward County tour which is 8 hours long and stops at Mackinnon Brother’s Brewing, Parson’s Brewing Co., Prince Eddy’s Brewing Co. and Cressy Mustard Co.
- Live music and discounts at Toboggan Brewing Company in London.

British Columbia
October also happens to be BC Craft Beer Month, meaning there are a number of events happening all month long! But in order to keep it short and sweet, here’s a list of activities that are taking place only on the 6th:
- “Black Kettle Oktoberfest” at Black Kettle Brewing in North Vancouver.
- “Battle of the Beer Cocktails” at The Raven Room in Whistler.
- “Bautumns Up Beer Launch #2” at Vancouver Island Brewing in Victoria.
- “Farmhouse Brewing’s 1 Year Anniversary” at Farmhouse Brewing in Chilliwack.
- “Re-Re Release of False Alarm Bitter” at the Firehall Brewery in Oliver.

Alberta
- “Pride Cask Beer Night” at Banff Ave Brewing Co. in Banff.
- There are a variety of tour companies across the province that offer group brewery tours! For instance, Canadian Craft Tours has locations in both Calgary and Edmonton.

Last but not least, don’t forget to enjoy a cold one (Canadian-made of course) at your local brewery, pub or restaurant! Find the closest spot near you on the Canadian Beer Day website.
