Everything You Need to Know About ‘Two Faces’ Natural Wine Bar and Bottle Shop in Guelph, Ontario!

Owned and operated by Meg Alford, ‘Two Faces‘ is a unique natural wine bar and bottle shop in Guelph, Ontario that opened in December 2019.

Meg and her best friend, Drea Scotland, created ‘Two Faces’ with the intention of taking the pretension out of wine by building a space where people who know a lot about wine and those who don’t know a thing, can coexist in harmony.

The focus on natural wine came from their appreciation of grower’s philosophies. The more they travelled to different vineyards to meet the faces behind the wine and the winemaking processes, the more they wanted to share these experiences with their customers. With that being said, the wines featured at ‘Two Faces’ are all from trusted importers.

The name ‘Two Faces’ was thrown into the mix of name suggestions when they were listening to Bruce Springsteen’s Tunnel of Love album and the song “Two Faces” came on. Apart from simply being fans of the song, Meg and Drea thought the notion of having two faces spoke well to their diverse personalities. Although they created ‘Two Faces’ as one, they both had their separate roles and contributions.

During certain stages of the pandemic, their bottle shop remained open. Now with patios re-flourishing, their outdoor space is also available to enjoy. Keep an eye out for donuts from Honey Cloud Donuts while you’re there!

One of the wines that Meg is the most excited about is the Jeudi 15 Rosato from Vino di Anna, which is a winery located in Mt Etna, Sicily. Interestingly enough, Sicily is one of the last places that Meg visited before the pandemic.

Otherwise, ‘Two Faces’ has two new releases for patio-goers. The first is an Austrian Zweigelt Rosé, and the second is an Orange Slovak wine which is 100% Veltlini (Grüner).

Their hours are Wednesday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Sunday from noon to 5:00 pm. Be sure to add this spot to your must-visit list for this upcoming weekend!
